Where to stay

The Grafton Inn
92 Main Street, Grafton VT

Join us at this historic inn in the tiny town of Grafton. Call and mention the Cann/Michener wedding for special room block rates (from $249/night).

What to do

In between wedding events, we hope you’ll take some time to explore the quaint town of Grafton. Take a stroll to one of the nearby covered bridges, cool off with a dip in the inn’s swimming pond, or grab a snack/lunch at Grafton Market.

In nearby Brattleboro, check out the Vermont Country Deli for delicious sandwiches. Fifteen minutes from the Inn, the Vermont Country Store is a great place to stock up on local Vermont goods.

If you’re coming from out of town and have extra time to explore, we recommend visiting nearby Woodstock, VT (1 hr drive) and trying a delicious Maple Creemee from Woodstock Scoops. Two hours west of the Inn, Lake George, NY is a beautiful place to explore (and it’s where we got engaged!).

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We ask that you respond before August 5th. You can do so here.

  • To allow everyone to unwind and enjoy the evening, our wedding will be adults-only, aside from our immediate family. Infants are welcome, but we kindly ask that you make other arrangements for children.

  • The exact location is still TBD (check back closer to the wedding for details!) But, as long as the weather holds out, we’ll be getting married outside on the inn grounds.

  • Everything in Grafton is a short walk away from the Inn. After the ceremony, we will all make the walk together back to the Inn from the ceremony site. If you require transport, let us know and we will arrange.

  • We don’t have a traditional registry, but if you feel inclined, a gift toward our honeymoon would be greatly appreciated.

  • The wedding will be cocktail attire. Suits for men and cocktail dresses or elevated evening wear for women.

  • Unfortunately Frank (Jerry) gets a little overwhelmed in crowds, so he will be with a babysitter at home. He’ll be with us in spirit though.

  • Our reception ends at 9pm, so we will have a casual afterparty at the bridal cottage (across from white gates barn). Feel free to get changed and head over for a nightcap.
